Li Tiejun's Microphotography Art

Li Tiejun

Li Tiejun graduated from Wuhan University School of Stomatology in 1984 and subsequently obtained a master’s degree in oral pathology in 1987. In 1995, he won his Ph.D. at the University of Birmingham (UK). He then worked as a postdoctoral fellow in Kagoshima University Dental School (Japan) during 1995-1998. He is currently a professor of Peking University School of Stomatology.

Dr. Li Tiejun is also a photography amateur and a member of the China Photographers Association. He has published a number of art albums and books that combines medical photomicrography with artistic presentation, such as The Beauty of Life, Under the Microscope (co-authored with Peng Zhixiang), Seeking New Territory: Beauty of Life Photomicrography, Life A Poem A Song: Four Seasons of Life under the Microscope and Backbone. Several art exhibitions of his photomicrographs have been held at universities at home and abroad as well as in many art museums. His artworks have been widely distributed in a variety of professional photography journals and media in China.

Huang Huiping

Huang Huiping is currently the head nurse in the department of orthodontics, Peking University School of Stomatology. Her professional specialties include orthodontic patient care and oral health management. She has published 12 academic papers and contributed to the compilation of 8 books. From 1992 to 1998, she studied English at Birmingham Chaplin Language School in the UK, and later learned Japanese at Kagoshima Akazika College in Japan and obtained her foreign language certificates respectively.
